We are a No Outsiders School. The overall goal of the No Outsiders programme is to build a school environment where difference is celebrated, everyone belongs, and pupils develop the emotional literacy and social awareness needed to live respectfully with others.
The No Outsiders programme is a UK-based school curriculum created by Andrew Moffat to promote equality, diversity, and inclusion from Early Years through Key Stage 2. Its core aim is to ensure that every child feels welcome, valued, and accepted—regardless of their background or identity.
The curriculum is built around the Equality Act 2010, helping children understand the nine protected characteristics (such as race, disability, religion, gender, and sexual orientation) in an age-appropriate way. It typically uses children’s picture books to introduce themes of respect, empathy, difference, and community belonging.
Key Features:
Story-led lessons: Each session uses a carefully chosen book to explore ideas like friendship, respect, identity, and challenging stereotypes.
Focus on equality: Encourages understanding of protected characteristics and teaches that discrimination is unacceptable.
Positive school culture: Helps create classrooms where all children feel included and confident to be themselves.
Age-appropriate resources: Materials are tailored for different primary year groups.
Prepares pupils for modern society: Encourages tolerance and understanding of diverse families, cultures, and ways of life
